Following the July 9 edition of WWE NXT, WWE star Cedric Alexander confirmed his move to the NXT brand.

On the July 9 episode of WWE NXT, former Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander appeared in a backstage segment with NXT GM Ava hosted by Stevie Turner. Turner and Robert Stone have been feuding for Ava’s favor in recent weeks.

During this segment, Alexander announced that he was officially joining the NXT brand. Stone then introduced and inserted Alexander’s partner, Ashante “Thee” Adonis, into a reunion with Ava.

The duo of Alexander and Adonis are part of the SmackDown brand and began teaming in dark matches at SmackDown television tapings in December 2023.

Tag team vignettes began airing on WWE’s digital platforms in February, but Alexander and Adonis never wrestled as a tandem on WWE TV following the segments.

Cedric Alexander was used sporadically as an enhancement talent in 2024 on SmackDown as part of the WWE Speed on Twitter/X show.

WrestleTalk will provide further updates on Cedric Alexander and Ashante “Thee” Adonis on the WWE NXT brand as they become available.
