Tottenham Hotspur strengthened as youth boss ignores approach

Davies joined Tottenham Hotspur in 2022 as head of methodology, having been promoted to the role of academy director last summer.

The 50-year-old works closely with Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou to help develop Spurs academy players.

Wales have hired former Premier League star Craig Bellamy as their new manager following the departure of previous boss Rob Page.

The 44-year-old tactician is currently assembling his coaching staff and wanted Davies to join him as his assistant.

However, there were rumours that Davies had turned down an offer to become Wales’ assistant manager and would remain with the north London club.

Davies worked with the new Wales boss when he was at Belgian club Anderlecht, with both working under Vincent Kompany.

The 50-year-old has extensive experience working in England, having spent six years at Manchester City before leaving for Anderlecht in 2019.

After rejecting Wales’ offer, Davies will be determined to continue working with Postecoglou this season to help Spurs’ young players break into the first team.
