NBA Media Personality Finally Says Something Positive About Miami Heat

A certain NBA media personality is pleased with the current Miami Heat squad.

ESPN NBA Countdown and First Take co-host Stephen A. Smith believes the Heat now have a roster capable of winning. He also told Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller on The OGs Show that he has a special soft spot for Tyler Herro.

“Tyler Herro can play. He can play now. So why are we talking about someone else coming to the Heat? He’s not a fraud,” Smith said Tuesday. “When he’s playing at his best, what does Miami look like?”

Last season, Herro averaged 20.8 points in 33.5 minutes.

Smith said Jimmy Butler isn’t the only answer for the Heat. He said Butler doesn’t need to improve for the Heat to win. They just need more from Herro.

“Jimmy Butler is a winner. He’s a fighter,” Smith said. “But he’s not a novice in basketball. We wouldn’t be talking about what Jimmy Butler or the Miami Heat have to do if Tyler Herro played ‘A’ every night. We wouldn’t be doing that.”

Smith just wouldn’t stop praising Herro.

“He’s not a brother who can’t play. He’s a brother who can play. He’s not a brother who can’t make a difference,” Smith said. “He’s a brother who can make a difference. The shooting authority, the heart, everything.”
