“Joined…” – Liverpool’s official channels have just confirmed a new arrival at Anfield

Liverpool FC have confirmed the latest addition to Arne Slot’s coaching ticket at Anfield.

On Thursday afternoon, the club’s official website and social media channels confirmed: “Aaron Briggs has joined Arne Slot’s staff after being appointed as the first team’s individual development coach” with immediate start.

The 37-year-old has previously held coaching and analyst roles at several clubs in England and Europe, including Manchester City and most recently Wolfsburg.

He becomes the fourth addition to the Dutchman’s backline at Liverpool, following assistant coach Sipke Hulshoff, senior physical performance coach Ruben Peeters and head of first-team goalkeeping coaching Fabian Otte.

Given his extensive CV in England and Europe, Liverpool can feel extremely pleased to have secured Briggs’ appointment at Anfield, with rumours suggesting he was recruited specifically for the role he has now taken up (Daily Mail).

He takes over the position left vacant by Vitor Matos, who left at the end of last season alongside Jürgen Klopp and most of the German’s senior players.

Progress has been made in the coaching staff behind Slot, and another major hire could soon be made as Johnny Heitinga confirmed earlier this week that he was in talks with the club to join his fellow Dutchman.

We are sure there will be further appointments in the coming weeks and months following what appears to be the shrewd capture of Briggs’ services.
