Leanne’s ‘cult’ storyline end date ‘confirmed’

Currently on Coronation Street, Toyah is worried about her sister – Leanne – after seeing her being dragged into Rowan’s Institute.

As Leanne drifts further and further away from her loved ones, Rowan has Leanne right where he wants her.

But now Rowan star Emrhys Cooper has signed up for a new role in a pantomime away from the soap. But what does this mean for Leanne’s ‘cult’ story?

Coronation Street: Leanne and the Institute

Corrie viewers will know that Leanne has really thrown herself into the Institute, choosing the seminars over her own family.

Toyah was very wary of this idea, especially Rowan. In fact, she was even pressured to sign a confidentiality agreement so that she wouldn’t speak ill of the organization in the future.

Rowan has now started playing with Toyah’s mind, even pretending that Leanne had been in a motorbike accident. He has also found out about Toyah and Nick’s affair, and is using it to blackmail the couple.

In recent scenes, Leanne left Toyah in hospital when she needed her most. Instead of supporting Toyah during her biopsy, Leanne attended a session at the Institute.

She has now started encouraging Amy Barlow to join the Institute as well, saying the organisation can really help people manage their stress…

Coronation Street: end date of Leanne’s ‘cult’ story in sight?

Well, it looks like Leanne’s ‘cult’ story is coming to an end as Emrhys Cooper has been announced as Prince Fredrick in the St Helens Theatre Royal production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

This stint in the pantomime will run from November 30, 2024 to January 15, 2025, which means that Emrhys will be absent from filming the soap opera for two months.

ED Coronation Street WhatsApp Call to Action Ad

On its Instagram account, St Helens Theatre Royal shared a photo of Emrhys dressed as a prince.

The page captioned the post: “JUST ANNOUNCED! Isn’t it jaw-dropping?! WRECK! Coronation Street’s Emrhys Cooper stars as Prince Fredrick in our biggest Christmas pantomime yet, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs!”

Of course, Rowan’s character could simply be taking a few months off the streets during this time. But could Emrhys’ new role be foreshadowing the end of Leanne’s “cult” storyline?

If that’s the case, and with Corrie filming around six weeks ahead of schedule, Leanne and Rowan’s story could wrap up around September or even earlier… But, could we see a Rowan exit in the coming months?
