J&K Ranger fires shots after spotting suspicious movement in Udhampur | India News

JAMMU: A police guard fired warning shots after spotting suspicious movement on Wednesday evening in Basantgarh area of ​​Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district, prompting patrolling teams to launch a search operation in the area.

A senior police officer explained that “it was not a terrorist attack as reported on social media.” The officer urged the public to refrain from sharing unverified posts.

On April 28, village defence guard M Sharief was killed in a gunfight between terrorists and security forces in Panara village in Basantgarh. A raid led to the arrest of Javed, a resident of Kathua district, on May 11 for providing logistical support to terrorists.
