The Boston Red Sox defeated the Oakland Athletics 12-9 at Fenway Park on Friday night, thanks to an eight-hit second inning that was started and finished by first baseman Dom Smith.

Smith walked the first batter of the inning and then soloed to right field for the team’s 11th run of the night.

After the game, injured Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas showed more of his eccentric personality by taking the microphone for NESN and doing a post-game interview with Smith.

Casas is a natural TV viewer. Between this and his crazy Father’s Day interview a few weeks ago, someone is going to pay him a lot of money to broadcast for them when his playing career is over.
