Katy Perry today launched an exciting new era in his record-breaking pop career, revealing details about his sixth studio album, titled 143scheduled for release September 20 via Capitol Records.

“I decided to create a bold, exuberant and festive pop-dance album with the symbolic digital expression 143 of love as the main message,” explains Katy Perry.

The result is a sexy, fearless return to form for the multifaceted musician. Filled with the kind of powerful, provocative pop anthems that fans love, 143 is an album with a lot of heart – and a lot of BPM.

The official video, which will premiere on MTV Live, mtvU, MTV’s Biggest Pop as well as Paramount+ Times Square billboards, was directed by Charlotte Rutherford and will be released alongside the track tomorrow, July 11 at 4:00 p.m. PT.

Friday, September 20, Katy will headline her sold-out show at Rock in Rio in Brazil, marking her first performance at the Rio de Janeiro festival since 2015. During Paris Fashion Week 2024, the global pop superstar made a surprise appearance on the Vogue World: Paris runway wearing a geometric Noir Kei Ninomiya gown. Later, she hit the streets of Paris in a minidress with an oversized train emblazoned with the lyrics of “Women’s World” printed on it. Heather Picchiottino designed the custom train. At night, Katy answered fans’ questions live in front of the Eiffel Tower, lit up in sparkling gold.

Since her Capitol Records debut in 2008 with One of the Boys, Katy Perry has racked up 115 billion streams and sold over 70 million albums and 143 million tracks worldwide. The best-selling female artist in Capitol Records history, Katy is one of only twelve artists in history to surpass 100 million certified units with her solo single releases—and the first-ever Capitol Records artist to reach the elite status of 10 million RIAA-certified units for a single in 2015. Years 2017 Witness features the double platinum “Chained to the Rhythm” (featuring Skip Marley) as well as the platinum hits “Bon Appétit” (featuring Migos) and “Swish Swish” (featuring Nicki Minaj). “Never Really Over,” from his latest album SMILEis certified platinum and was the biggest streaming release of Katy’s music career. The album also includes the gold-certified singles “Daisies” and “Harleys in Hawaii.” SMILE has sold over 2.5 million adjusted albums, with over 4 billion combined streams to date.

In addition to being one of the best-selling music artists of all time, Katy is a passionate advocate for many philanthropic causes. In 2013, Katy was named a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and has used her powerful voice to ensure every child’s right to health, education, equality and protection.
