Drivers trying to get into Terminal 1 at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) were hit with delays Wednesday evening after authorities investigated a “suspicious item.”

Police blocked off exits from Highway 5 to Terminal 1 at 5pm, and traffic cameras showed drivers pulling into a ditch to turn around.

At 6:00 p.m., airport officials said the closure was due to a suspicious item found in Terminal 1. Flight operations resumed at approximately 6:20 p.m., and access to ticketing and baggage claim areas was restored.

This is a developing story. Check back for details.
